Hello and welcome to the first of our alternative Gameweek Preview articles. Festive fixtures make combining Big Questions and Roundup hard to do, so we will aim to use a different format to cover as much as possible in advance of each game

Wolves - Burnley

Key Storylines: Can a confident Burnley, fresh off their 5-0 drubbing of Sheffield United, continue the momentum against Wolves? How will Wolves line-up in the continued absence of Pedro Neto and missing Rayan Ait-Nouri?

Streamer Potential: Yes. Most on the Wolves side of the ball, where you might be tempted to even look at defenders in this one. Matt Doherty is popular with our projections and could draw a start here in as good a matchup as you could want.

Top 3 Projected Expected Points (expected starters): Matt Doherty (13.86), Matheus Cunha (10.45), Hwang Hee-Chan (9.51)

Luton Town - Arsenal

Bukayo Saka’s projected xFpts list him as the 5th best start of the week

Key Storylines: Can Luton do enough to disrupt Arsenal’s attack whilst still creating chances themselves? And can Arsenal pick up where they left off last week and make an attacking statement?

Streamer Potential: You can almost definitely start the entire Arsenal lineup (possibly even Kai Havertz, if he starts). For Luton it’s Ross Barkley and Alfie Doughty at best.

Top 3 Projected Expected Points (expected starters): Bukayo Saka (13.85), Gabriel Jesus (11.81), Gabriel Magalhaes (11.46)

Brighton - Brentford

Key Storylines: Will Neal Maupay return to haunt his old side? Can Brighton plug the leak in their defence long enough to create goals against a stubborn Brentford side?

Streamer Potential: Maupay is pretty much the only route to buy into this Brentford side in attack in almost all league sizes (and he’s not even a guaranteed start). The leaky Brighton defence makes it almost seem appealing though. On the Brighton side, we wait to see who is healthy enough to start but likely the majority of attackers will be rostered and you want nothing to do with this defence.

Top 3 Projected Expected Points (expected starters): Kaoru Mitoma (11.35), Bryan Mbeumo (11), Simon Adingra (10.73)

Crystal Palace - Bournemouth
