The 16 players who will benefit from the International Break
In which we discuss the players who look set to benefit most from the International Break this September
Without fail, the September International Break comes around just as we find ourselves back in the flow of things for Fantrax. An impossibly long ten days of praying for no injuries (and debating whether we can bring ourselves to watch any of the games) often manifests in strange trade offers, or out of the blue Adds / Drops.
We thought we’d try our best to skew positive at the start of this barren Fantrax period, find some upside, and look at the players who might benefit most from the International Break. Some of them will be rostered in most leagues, some may not. We will focus mostly on the players we think have relevance for Fantrax, so apologies to anyone backing Sheffield United’s third CB for a post-break breakout.
On with the show…
The injured
This is the easiest category of player to talk about. No projection of improvement or output growth is really required for most of these names. There are players with proven Fantrax point production, but unfortunate niggling or lingering injuries to start the year. And, though we’d defer to the likes of Ben Dinnery to comment definitively on injury occurrence levels overall, there’ve seemingly been a lot of them this year. And that’s even putting aside those players with open-ended return timeframes (Luke Shaw) or who will not be back until later in the season (Kevin De Bruyne, Christopher Nkunku).
